MOZZARELLA STICKS

Mozzarella sticks a very easy and quick snack recipe and very delicious too.Mozazrella sticks are elongated pieces of battered or breaded Mozzarella. If I had known how easy fried Mozzarella sticks are to make, I would have made them earlier. We all know how important it is to have quick snacks on hand for school and pretty much any other time kids are hungry-which is always. I always like to have healthy snacks for my kids on standby, but it’s fun to mix things up with sweet treats too. I love experimenting with my recipes that don’t call for a ton of ingredients. All the ingredients on hand and don’t even have to run out to the store. They can be served tomato or barbeque or mustard sauce.

INGREDIENTS:

300 gms Mozzarella Cheese

½ Cup Bread Crumbs

Oil for Deep Frying

For the Batter:

½ Cup Plain Flour (Maida)

¼ Cup Corn Flour

½ teaspoon Dried Oregano

½ teaspoon Dry Red Chili Flakes (paprika)

Salt to taste

For Serving:

Tomato Ketchup

METHOD:

STEP 1 – Cut mozzarella cheese into sticks [like French fries] and freeze.

STEP 2 – Combine all the ingredients for the batter in a bowl and make a thick batter using approximately ½ cup of water.

STEP 3 – Dip each cheese stick into the batter and coat with a thick layer of bread crumbs, pressing them firmly.

STEP 4 -Refrigerate for 1/2 hour.[see notes]

STEP 5 – Deep fry a few pieces at a time in very hot oil for a few seconds till golden brown.

Serve immediately with the tomato and red wine sauce.

NOTES: * If needed follow STEP 3 again and keep again for 15-20 minutes in refrigerator and then deep fry.
