KELACHE SHIKRAN

Kelache Shikran - Traditional Maharashtrian recipe which is very quick and easy to make with very few ingredients. In the fast paced life of today, everyone looks for easy to make and healthy food options. So posting this perfectly healthy and nutritious Indian snack which will get ready just in 5 minutes.  A perfect healthy snack for toddlers and kids. So if you are looking for an easy breezy and  healthy snack option for your kids then this is the best. Your kids will seriously love this. You can have it with chapatti or you can have it as it is. Tastes best both ways. I remember my childhood because my mother used to make it when we were kids. This is one of the Maharashtrian dessert that can be eaten during fast also. It is almost similar to Banana Rasayana, an another no cook banana dessert which calls for grated coconut or coconut milk. But here it is made with cow milk. Banana Rasayana is served for as a naivedyam while Kelache Shikran is served and enjoyed as a dessert or accompaniment to relish with chapatis or else for snacks. If you love desserts with banana then you must have to give a try to this recipe and trust me you will definitely going to like this simple dish which tastes extremely delicious.

INGREDIENTS:

2 Bananas ripe

2 Cup Milk

2-3 tablespoon or according to your taste

1 teaspoon Ghee

METHOD:

STEP 1 – First heat the milk in a pan. Don’t overheat it, it should be little warm.

STEP 2 – Add sugar in it and mix it well until it dissolve.

STEP 3 – Peel the bananas and mash them roughly in a bowl.
Add this to milk and mix well.

STEP 4 – After mixing well add 1 teaspoon pure ghee in it and mix it and shikran is ready to serve.

Serve it with chapatti or you can serve it as it is as a dessert.

NOTES: *This is plain traditional shikran. For a variation, you can add cardamom powder and chopped nuts in it.  But I personally love to have it plain because banana has its own flavour and it tastes nice.

NOTE: *Don’t keep it for a longer time, it will spoil in that case.
