Masala Chaas recipe a refreshing summer coolant and the most easy and quickest summer drink and the most healthiest chilled drink made using curd/ buttermilk and fresh herbs. Chaas is a common term for buttermilk and masala chaas is nothing but a spicy buttermilk made using fresh herbs, green chillies and mainly added black salt and cumin powder. This drink is quite refreshing and curd/ buttermilk is the best ingredient that should be included in summer and mainly in the form of various buttermilk recipes. Masala chaas is not only light and refreshing but also good for you. Making this masala chaas does not need any special skills or techniques, all you need is a good blender. Just mix everything together till combined and pour in to glasses and enjoy.

METHOD:
STEP 1 – In a mortar-pestle, add coriander leaves, curry leaves, green chilli and ginger and crush it roughly.

STEP 2 – Add this rough paste to buttermilk and mix well.

STEP 3 – Add salt, cumin powder, black salt and asafoetida in it and give a nice stir.
Masala chhas is ready to serve.

Use chilled buttermilk for this recipe or add lots of ice in to it. I added namkeen boondi at the time of serving but it is totally optional.
