Masala Chaas recipe a refreshing summer coolant and the most easy and
quickest summer drink and the most healthiest chilled drink made using curd/
buttermilk and fresh herbs. Chaas is a common term for buttermilk and masala
chaas is nothing but a spicy buttermilk made using fresh herbs, green chillies
and mainly added black salt and cumin powder. This drink is quite refreshing
and curd/ buttermilk is the best ingredient that should be included in summer
and mainly in the form of various buttermilk recipes. Masala chaas is not only
light and refreshing but also good for you. Making this masala chaas does not
need any special skills or techniques, all you need is a good blender. Just mix
everything together till combined and pour in to glasses and enjoy.
INGREDIENTS:
2 Glass Buttermilk
2 Green Chillies
1 tablespoon Coriander Leaves
¼- 1/2 “ Ginger
1 Sprig Curry Leaves
Pinch of Asafoetida
¼ teaspoon Cumin Powder
¼ teaspoon Black Salt
Salt as needed
1 tablespoon Namkeen Boondi [optional]
METHOD:
STEP 1 – In a mortar-pestle, add coriander leaves, curry leaves, green chilli and ginger and crush it roughly.
STEP 2 – Add this rough paste to buttermilk and mix well.
STEP 3 – Add salt, cumin powder, black salt and asafoetida in it and give a nice stir.
Masala chhas is ready to serve.
Use chilled buttermilk for this recipe or add lots of ice in to it. I added namkeen boondi at the time of serving but it is totally optional.
