This is my favorite Chinese dish that takes less than 20 minutes to prepare from start to finish. The crispy honey chicken turns out incredible and is so loved by my family. INGREDIENTS:
1 Chicken
½ Cup
All-Purpose Flour
½ teaspoon
Salt [as per taste]
4-5 Cups
Vegetable oil for frying
1/3 Cup
Water
1/3 Cup
Lemon
2 teaspoon
Corn-Starch
4 teaspoon
Chinese Chilli Sauce
2 teaspoon
Soy Sauce
1½ teaspoon Fresh Ginger, minced
3 tablespoon
Honey
6 green
Onions, sliced thinly lengthwise[optional for garnishing]
METHOD:
STEP 2 – In
a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
STEP 3 – Add
chicken pieces and toss.
STEP 4 –
Make sure you coat each piece well.
STEP 5 –
Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat.
STEP 6 – Add
chicken, one piece at a time. Fry
a few pieces at a time if you have small pieces, or they will stew instead of browning.
STEP 7 –
Cook until golden for about 5 minutes.
STEP 8 –
Drain on paper towels. Repeat with all the chicken pieces.
STEP10 –
Combine water, lemon juice, corn starch, chilli sauce and soy sauce in a small
bowl. Mix well.
STEP 11 –
Add oil to a skillet and then add ginger. Fry for 1 minute.
STEP 13 –
Stir in corn starch- chilli mixture. Cook and stir till sauce boils.
STEP 16 –
Stir the onion. Cook and stir for about 1 minute more.Your chicken chilli with honey glaze is ready to serve. Garnish it with spring onion and serve.
