CHANA DAL VADA / MASALA VADA/ CHANDRAPURI VADA




Masala vada is one of the famous recipes from South India, which is made with Chana Dal or Bengal
Gram. It is also famous in Maharashtra in South –East part .The method of of preparing masala vada is
similar to Falafal, instead of ground white chickpeas, chana dal is used here. It may be used as tea time
snack.






INGREDIENTS:


1 cup  Chana Dal

1cup Spinach leaves [palak]

1cup Different veggies as per your choice [all colour capsicum, spring onion]

3-4  Green chillies

1 Tbsp Ginger-garlic paste

Chopped onion

Fresh coriander

Turmeric

Salt Cumin seeds

Oil for frying


METHOD:


STEP 1 - Soak Chana Dal for 5-6 hrs. , drain the water and grind roughly in mixer grinder.



STEP 2 -  Add finely chopped  Palak and other veggies,  turmeric  ,salt , cumin seeds , ginger -garlic   paste and fresh chopped coriander in it and mix well .


STEP 3 - If u need add some besan [chana dal flour] or rice flour for binding purpose. I added besan.


STEP 4 - Now heat oil in a pan.

STEP 5 - Take just little batter and make tikkies using your palm and deep fry.

                
                      Serve hot with tomato sauce /mint chutney / some other chutney .
