SHAHI BREAD TUKDA / TUKRA



Shahi bread tukda is one of the rich royal mughlai dessert in the traditional way .One piece of shahi tukda will give you a feeling of royality.It is rich in taste ,aroma ,flavour and calories too .

Shahi tukda is rich bread pudding .Toasted bread covered with creamy milk known as Rabdi. 



INGREDIENTS:


4 Bread slices

Clarified Butter


For SUGAR SYRUP:


1 cup Sugar

1 cup Water

Pinch of Cardamom powder


For RABDI :


½ lit. Milk

½ cup Condensed Milk [ Milkmaid ]

Nutmeg Powder

Cardamom Powder

Saffron Threads

Dry Fruits [ Desired, Chopped Finely ]

  

METHOD :


STEP 1- Cut the bread slices in triangular shape .


STEP2 - In a non–stick pan , on a medium flame ,fry the bread slices till golden brown . Keep them aside.


STEP 3 - Then in another sauce pan at a medium flame , heat milk ,add cardamom powder .


STEP 4 - In a small cup , take 2-3 spoons of hot milk and put the saffron threads into it ,which afterwards has to be added to the whole milk .

STEP 5 - Add condensed milk in the boiling milk so that it gets thickened. Add the saffron milk into it.

STEP 6 - After that switch off the flame and let it come to room temperature.

STEP 7 - Meanwhile , prepare the sugar syrup and add cardamom powder to it .Remove it from heat.


STEP 8 - Dip the bread slice in the sugar syrup and allow bread slices to soak up the syrup.


STEP 9 - Then pour the milk over the bread, let it soak the milk by leaving it for 10-15 minutes.

STEP 10 - Garnish with sliced dry fruits .

                  You can serve it hot / cold .
