OATS- SOOJI APPE


Hii friends, here is the recipe of quick and healthy breakfast. It hardly takes any time to prepare and is pretty tasty and healthy. Ideal choice to give little one a great start. Oats is a high fibre cereal and perfect option for a healthy breakfast or evening snack. Eat a breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dine like a bankrupt. This is an ancient proverb that we all are aware of. We all are aware that oats is a very healthy and nutrtitious food and as breakfast is the most vital meal of the day., the perfect way to start it would be with a bowl of oats. The best benefits of oatmeal for weight loss is that it is a great source of fiber. The oatmeal is a soluble fiber, which means our body slowly moves this food product through your digestive system, allowing you to feel more satisfied for long amount of time. You can make oats appe with leftover/ fermented idli/ dosa batter. To this fermented batter you have to add onion, coriander, curry leaves, green chillies etc and yes of course powdered oats to prepare oats appe from leftover idli batter. But here is my instant appe recipe so please do follow the step-by-step recipe and enjoy the healthy and delicious oats sooji/rawa appe.




INGREDIENTS:
½ cup Oats
½ cup Sooji
¾ cup Curd
½ cup Water (approximate)
1 Onion (finely chopped)
1 Carrot (grated)
Salt to taste
Chili chopped
For Tempering:
1 ½ teaspoon Oil
 ½ teaspoon Mustard Seeds
1 tablespoon Urad Dal (split black gram)
6 Curry Leaves finely chopped
Butter/ Oil


METHOD:
STEP 1 – Mix oats, sooji and curd. Add water as required.
STEP 2 – Add onion, carrot and chili and salt. Mix well.
STEP 3 – Temper the batter with oil, mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.
Mix well.
STEP 4 – Now the batter is ready.

STEP 5 - Add baking soda in the end and mix well.

STEP 6 - Grease the appe pan and heat it.

STEP 7 - Pour a spoonfull batter in each appe mold and cover it for 2-3 minutes.

STEP 8 - Just check the appe with a knife or spoon. If done from that side, flip them and cook.

STEP 9 - Cook from another side till golden brown. 

STEP 10 - Once done from both sides, remove them from appe pan and serve hot with your favourite chutney.

 Serve hot with green chutney or coconut chutney.
