MIRCHI PAKODAS very popular and quick breakfast or evening snacks.This mirchi pakodas are filled with spicy powdered peanuts. Everyone loves it and I often make it. This is a perfect dish to enjoy the rains with a hot cup of tea.Actually there are two types of pakodas - plain and stuffed. Mirchi pakodas are the stuffed ones.Dipped in batter and fried, makes a mouthwatering snack for people who love hot, spicy food. This can be used as a side dish with plain rice or used as snacks also. Use only similar sized chillies.
INGREDIENTS :
1 Cup Besan
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric [haldi]
Salt as required
1/4 teaspoon Carom seeds [अजवाइन ]
1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds( til )
Oil for frying
6-7 Long bhavnagari chillies
For STUFFING :
1 tablespoon Besan
1 tablespoon Peanut Powder
1 teaspoon Garlic paste
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric [haldi]
1 teaspoon Chilly powder
Salt as per taste
METHOD:
STEP 1 - For stuffing, mix besan,peanut powder, garlic paste,chilly powder,salt and turmeric and make a dough with little water .
STEP 2 - Wash the bhavnagari chillies and make a vertical slit . Remove the seeds.
STEP 3 - Fill the stuffing and keep aside .
STEP 4 - Now make a simple batter with besan ,cumin seeds ,carom seeds[अजवाइन ] ,til/ sesame seeds,turmeric ,red chilly powder and salt .
STEP 5 - Now dip the stuffed chillies in the batter and fry till slight brown in color .
STEP 6 - Soak excess oil on tissue .
Serve the pakodas hot with green pudina chutney / tomato sauce .....enjoy...
NOTE:
As the batter is ready put a tablespoon hot oil in it to make it more crispy and this will not allow the pakodas to soak much oil while frying.
