DAL TADKA

Though there are many simple and best curries and dals in Indian cuisine, nothing is as good as dal tadka.  It is actually a Punjabi recipe with dal, onion, tomatoes and spices.  Dal tadka is a perfect dish to have with roti /rice. The menu of any Indian restaurant is incomplete without dal tadka. 



INGREDIENTS:

1 Cup Arhar dal ( toor dal )
1 Sliced Onion
1 Tsp Garlic paste
1 Tomato chopped
Turmeric
2-3 Dry red chillies
Cumin Seeds
Salt as per taste
Coriander
Oil

METHOD :

STEP 1 - Pressure cook toor dal for three whistles .Let it cool.
STEP 2 - Now take a pan , put on the gas , add oil ,crackle cumin seeds  , add dry red chillies , garlic paste .
Saute for a while and add turmeric  and salt .


STEP 3 -  Now immediately add dal to the pan . Just mash and mix the dal with spoon .
Add some water as per the cosistency you like .
STEP 4 - Cook for 2/3 minutes and add green coriander and garnish .
STEP 5 -  Put off the gas , your dal is ready .



              You can serve it with chappati ,bhakri or rice ......it's up to u .
